Officer Mike DeMarco

Officer DeMarco

The Plum Borough School District hired Officer Michael DeMarco on January 23, 2024. Officer DeMarco will be a valuable asset to our school police force. He comes to our team with a great deal of experience. As a former Plum Boro Police Officer, Officer DeMarco brings with him years of local knowledge that will allow him to make an immediate impact on our students and school community.
An air traffic controller in the Marine Corps from 1990 to 1995, DeMarco is a native of Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood. He started his police career in 2001, working part-time in Edgewood and Swissvale. Officer DeMarco was hired by the Plum Boro Police Department in 2003, where he served the residents of the borough until his retirement on June 30, 2023.
Borough Police Chief Lanny Conley was DeMarco’s training officer when he was hired by the borough and was sorry to see DeMarco go. “I think Mike will excel,” Conley said. “Mike’s good with everybody in the public. He has a knack for being very pleasant with everyone. He does a great job and gets along with everyone.”
