Mareana Pilyih named National NCAA Rookie of the Year

Saint Vincent freshman Mareana Pilyih has earned one of the season's top honors from the National Tenpin Coaches Association, named the NCAA Division III National Rookie of the Year in women's bowling.

Meet Our Educators: John DeLuce

This year is Mr. DeLuce’s 26th year teaching in the district. He teaches choir at PHS, as well as Partners in Music and piano class. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. DeLuce directs the fall play, spring musical, and stage crew.

Meet Our Alumni: Jake Lewis

Jake Lewis grew up in a family of carpenters. His father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were all carpenters. When Lewis graduated Plum Senior High School, he chartered his own path, earning a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice, a minor in organizational leadership, and a certificate in middle eastern studies from Slippery Rock University. After he began work, Lewis had a realization.

Students at Pivik Elementary School learned the cold hard facts about how Penguins stay warm in Antarctica’s frigid waters. Students learned all about blubber and its insulating properties in a hands-on experiment.
