Per State Law, a Dental Exam is mandatory for students entering school for the first time in Kindergarten (or 1st Grade if student skipped Kindergarten), and for students in grades 3 & 7. Your family dentist may complete the exam, or the school dentist may do a dental screening (free of charge). If your child had an exam since July 1 of the year prior, you do not need to repeat the exam, just have your dentist complete the form based on the last exam date. As detailed in the parent handbook, failure to submit a completed private dental examination form by the date that the school dentist is scheduled is implied consent for a school examination.
