District Awarded Nearly $2 Million in Environmental Repair Grant

The Plum Borough School District has been notified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) that the District will be awarded $1,909,473 in a PDE Environmental Repair Grant. These funds will target air quality improvement projects at Plum Middle School, including replacing exterior doors and windows, replacing HVAC chiller and pump systems, and installing a dedicated outdoor air system to improve indoor air quality.

This grant reflects PBSD’s commitment to advocate for the education of our students. Dr. Walsh, Superintendent of Schools, shares, “this PDE grant is the second substantial grant our District has received in recent months, totaling approximately $7M, and illustrates our administrative goal to prioritize alternative revenue and financial responsibility.”
