Plum Borough School District’s Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, JROTC, is always up to the challenge. The group has resolved their in-house registration issue while staying compliant with the guidelines set by the Center for Disease Control.
The JROTC website has expanded its capabilities to allow Cadets to register for their co-curricular or event on their mobile devices by scanning a QR code with their phone. This takes them to an event-specific Google registration form. A managing Cadet then takes the temperature of their comrade and enters their measurement on the same Google registration form. This no-contact process allows both parties to complete the registration process while capturing critical data on one Google form.
The current co-curricular season includes Drill, Air Rifle, and Flag Detail. The JROTC Team Captains listed below are responsible for creating and updating the Google forms:
Drill: Alec Alese - Grade 10; Morgan Waltz - Grade 11
Air Rifle: Emma Killmeyer - Grade 10; Xander Thorwart - Grade 11
Flag Detail: Emma Killmeyer - Grade 10
The following Cadets are responsible for creating/updating the website within their areas of responsibility.
Aidan Bell - Grade 12
Aidan Carnahan - Grade 12
Taylor Fischer - Grade 12
Justin Hairston - Grade 12
Cassandra Heffner - Grade 12
Gage Parker - Grade 12
Additional Google Sites are created and linked to the main site as the Cadets enter new co-curricular seasons.
Major Sergeant Butlers says, “Everyday, I am grateful to be among these amazing young people. Their commitment and camaraderie are to be admired in the midst of our current challenges.”
