Holiday Park Elementary School continues to enrich their children with curriculum and creative projects that introduce, reinforce, and spark their student’s abilities and interests (Did you read the article about the Digital Escape Room they’re having this summer?). They have made traction with the launch of their first Virtual Career Day!
This month, eight special people in the Plum community sent career videos for Holiday Park kids to view and learn about various professions. The students caught a glimpse of the day in the life of a chiropractor, a structural engineer, a cable splicer, a pharmacist, and more! Presenters described the activities they loved the most in elementary school and why certain classes in the upper grades such as math and reading were important. They told stories about favorite teachers, the lessons they learned from their most challenging classes, the volunteer work they did in college, and the kinds of summer internships that prepared them for their current roles. They also shared advice about the kinds of challenges and opportunities they encounter on the job. You can view their presentations below by clicking on their photographs.
