Mr. John Zahorchak, MBA, SFO, PRSBS has over 10 years of experiences working for children in public education as a school business official. Since 2016, John has been the Chief Financial Officer for Plum Borough School District, responsible for leadership of financial operations, plant operations, custodial, facility, transportation and food service. During his tenure, he has closed the gap between budgeted revenues and expenses as compared to actual performance numbers by $4 million in 2016-17 fiscal year. He built a long-range financial model designed to clear the annual persistent deficit and balance annual budgets for the next three (3) years.
John's educational background includes, among other areas, strategic planning, financial analysis, employee relations, employee recruiting and retention, management and economic analysis. With this experience, Mr. Zahorchak continues to strives to enhance the education process within the school setting through effective business management practices.
GOAL: To support the staff to ensure that students achieve with accountability to the taxpayer. His role as an effective leader will be to continue support the education programs while managing a balanced budget.
