Dr. Yamnitzky has dedicated almost 25 years to educating children in public education. Her career began as a teacher of the gifted, and her subsequent tenure has included serving as assistant to the principal, K-6 principal, K-6 Director of Curriculum, Acting Superintendent, and Assistant Superintendent. Committed to high quality instruction and effective professional development, she has led initiatives in strategic planning, improved math instruction, technology implementation, and designing and building a collaborative professional development model for teachers.
Her focus remains on valuing the “whole child”. As such, she has significantly improved student achievement and instruction through the use of differentiated instruction, and a commitment to the recognition of multiple kinds of intelligences in children. She has, therefore, been awarded opportunities to present at regional, state and national conferences. She is most proud of being the recipient of the Governor’s Award for Academic Achievement multiple times.
Goal: Dr. Yamnitzky makes serving her community a priority, She devotes many hours to volunteering to make Plum Borough School District and community a great place to learn and grow.
