Fourth-grade students put their map skills to work by 'drafting' an NFL team to follow this season. Each week in social studies they identify the state and capital of the state where the game is being played. They use a map scale to calculate miles traveled and direction of travel in addition to identifying other states the away team crossed to get to the game. They also name bordering states and bodies of water that border the state where the game is being played.
