Plum Borough School District has created three instruction scenarios for families this school year: the District’s hybrid model, PlumFLEX, and the Plum Digital Learning Academy (PDLA). They were created in response to family feedback and evolving student needs.

Mr. Preston Hartman is our new Director of K-12 Virtual Learning. He has extensive experience in online instruction and will be spearheading PDLA education. The Plum Digital Learning Academy is an innovative opportunity for our students to engage in an online learning environment while remaining connected to the District. It offers online classes and provides flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of our students and families. The program is open to all District families and is available for students in grades K-12.

Hartman comes to the District from Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Annapolis, Maryland. He served as their Lead Administrator for the eSchool Distance Learning Program, a supplemental program to their Evening High School program. He contributed to the growth and success of the program, helping over 300 students graduate with their high school diploma (that’s a 10-15% enrollment increase each semester!).

Mr. Preston Hartman has nine years of experience in the middle and high school levels as a classroom teacher, department chairperson, and assistant principal within Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
