If you’ve ever prepared to attend a school dance, then you know it can be a stressful time. The thought of seeing friends is exciting but the process of getting to the dance is filled with decisions, detours, and sometimes delays. Despite the challenges that pop up along the way, including the frenzy of families preparing for Thanksgiving break, several students were able to get together and have the best time of their lives.

The first annual Harvest Dance at Plum Senior High School was held before students left for the Thanksgiving break, serving as the unofficial kickoff to this year’s holiday celebrations. The Best Buddies club conceived the idea of the Harvest Dance to provide dedicated space and time for students to get together and have fun! The activities included cookie decorating, playing cornhole, dancing to the latest hits, and simply spending time hanging out with each other.

According to Braeden Tronsberg, a sophomore at Plum Senior High School, “[The Dance] was awesome! I showed all my dance moves and everyone was impressed. I had so much fun!”

Best Buddies officers Sophie Vargesko (president), Chloe Fablo (vice president), Miles Tush (secretary), Cameron Moss (treasurer), and Lila Scheer (media) worked together to provide this momentous event for such a deserving group of young adults to break down social barriers and build lifelong bonds of friendship.
