Communications Corner: The Class of 2021



Hello #PlumFamily, As sure as the sun sets and the moon rotates the earth — time does fly. We are days away from introducing the graduates of the Class of 2021. As a mother of a senior, I’ve embraced these precious moments and found myself repeating the phrase “time flies” as I reminisced over the many experiences where we have traveled, played, created, inquired, chilled, laughed, and made funny faces (Yes, we still do!), connecting and traveling through life together as mother and son. I understand the excitement in thiis moment, and celebrate with you! All of our graduates have worked hard to achieve their goal of walking across the stage to receive their diploma. Despite the obstacles of this past year, they continued to study and excel in their courses, working despite the obstacles life threw at them. They deserve our applause. This year’s commencement ceremony will be held at the Plum Senior High School Athletic Field on June 3, 2021 at 7:00 PM. Live streaming will be available on the District website. In May, we also celebrate Asian American-Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. Plum Borough School District recognizes the contributions of the men and women of AAPI heritage to American history. To learn more about their history and culture, click here: https://asianpacificheritage.gov/ The week of May 3 - 7 marked Teacher’s Appreciation Week. We extend our sincere thanks to those who make a difference in the lives of our children each day, working tirelessly and creatively to educate and advocate for the success of all our students. #TeacherAppreciationWeek On May 6, we celebrated #NationalNursesDay. The District recognized the valuable role they play in supporting our students and staff during these unprecedented times. Your courage, compassion and expertise were what helped us get on a path to building a stronger community. Thank you! “A child without education is like a bird without wings.” —Tibetan Proverb

We are days away from introducing the graduates of the Class of 2021.
