Healthcare Career Glimpse Goes Virtual

Oblock Junior High School seventh-grade students participated in “Technology in Health Care,” a career presentation by the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Women In Information Technology that introduced students to career paths in medicine, health care, and technology. The presentation also included an overview of the impact of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) on Pittsburgh and surrounding communities, advances in Information Technology (IT), and the various professional roles that help drive the IT systems, projects, and business processes that are essential in keeping an organization like UPMC running smoothly. The presentation was delivered virtually throughout the day during the seventh-grade science classes by UPMC's Kim George (Plum parent), Zanub Malik (Plum graduate), and their colleagues.
