Plum LEARNS

In the event that a building or the District is closed for two consecutive days or more, the District will move to Plum LEARNS (synchronous learning) operating on a normal bell schedule in order to limit the disruption of teaching and learning for our students.

Plum LEARNS is intended to be used when circumstances prevent the District from delivering in-person instruction due to severe weather and/or other factors necessitating the closure of any or all of our school buildings for two consecutive days or more

On these daysstudents will not report to school but will participate from home. Families will be informed of school closures using our normal avenues of communication. The information below outlines guidelines/expectations for students in the event a remote learning day is triggered:

  • Plum LEARNS will have synchronous instruction

  • Students will abide by the Livestreaming Policy 815.3 and Code of Conduct Remote Teaching.

  • Students should follow the guidelines for working remotely to ensure their success.

  • Online activities should be completed by students using their PBSD issued Chromebook and the software provided/recommended by PBSD to avoid technical issues.

  • Students would participate in their education as they would if they were engaged in educational activities in the physical school building.

  • Attendance is tracked through participation on the Google Meet.

  • Students must log on and remain on as directed by the classroom teacher.

  • The District will be expecting students to attend school as if it were operating under normal circumstances.
