Communications Corner: Who Said it Couldn’t Be Done?

March is Women's History Month and it's a time when we recognize women from various backgrounds and life experiences and celebrate their contribution to our society. This month marks a time to reflect on and examine the 19th amendment and the conditions that led to its construction. March 8th marks International Women’s Day, when communities around the world celebrate women’s achievements and efforts to forge gender equal societies.

Plum Senior High School's Black Student Union has concluded its Black History Month Portrait Contest. The event was established to help expand the knowledge on African-American history and the contributions made and marked into American history. PSHS LGBTQIA+ Club Hits Floor Running

Plum Senior High School established and kicked off the first meeting of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual Alliance Club. The LGBTQIA+ Alliance Club helps connect high school students to a community of peers with similar needs. They will offer socialization and learning opportunities through educational events, fundraising and community outreach.

Ms. Stephanie Lednak, Learning Support Teacher at Oblock Junior High School, won the Pennsylvania Association for Middle-Level Education (PAMLE) Promising Practitioner Award. She has been recognized for her positive impact on both school and community.

Student-Driven Project Pushes Passion for Reading

Holiday Park Elementary School (HP) teachers and support staff partner with students to use the latest technology to encourage students to read. Participating in the Read Across America program and working with a user-friendly digital platform, both parties were able to promote and reach their goal of sharing the love of reading.
