Renee DeMichiei Farrow
Class of 1976
Ms. Farrow is a lifelong entrepreneur, a small business advocate and author who is highly lauded for business branding, marketing, and public relations. She earned recognition as Pennsylvania Best 50 Women in Business, SBA Regional Women in Business Advocate of the year, YWCA Tribute to Women for Entrepreneurship and the Girl Scout Women of Distinction award in Business. She serves on many boards, founded a scholarship for Plum students in honor of her mother, and takes an active mentor role.
The Honorable Richard A. Hrivnak
Mayor of Plum
Class of 1983
Richard Hrivnak is currently serving his third term as mayor of Plum Borough. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall and in 2013 was appointed to the three person Allegheny County Personnel Board. He is the Director of Human Resources and Labor Relations for the UPMC Hospital System and was named Human Resources Professional of the Year by the Westmoreland County of the local chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management.
Richard F. Kelly
Class of 2003
Richard Kelly is an illustrator and print maker who does freelance work and began making posters for bands, designing the images and then screen printing them at a local print shop. Clients range from magazines such as “The New Republic” and “Wired” to bands like Phish and The Black Keys to pop-culture institutions such as Gallery 1988 and Mondo. He was selected by the Oscar Academy to create a screen print for one of the movies nominated for picture of the year.
Commander William A. Lind USN. (ret.)
Class of 1987
Commander Lind flew the Navy’s premier aircraft, the F-14 Tomcat, from seven different aircraft carriers engaged in combat operations in Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. At sea in the Arabian Gulf on 9/11, he helped plan, and subsequently flew the initial strikes into Afghanistan in the fall of 2001. He retired in 2011 and works as a tactical aviation consultant and trainer to Special Forces Units. He also works as a mentor and process coach in the international oil exploration industry.
Toni G. Verstandig
Class of 1970
Ms. Verstandig is chair of the Aspen Institute’s Middle East Program and Senior Vice President at the S. Daniel Abraham Center for Middle East Peace. At Aspen, she oversees a public-private partnership that deepens engagement between the U.S. and local communities in 10 countries from North Africa to Indonesia. She also served on the Arab-Israeli Peace team and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She serves on many boards, including Chairperson of the Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Center for Global Development.
