“Libraries serve as protectors of history and curators of knowledge – not to mention beautiful spaces that inspire us.”

* Students will have a weekly library class where they will have an opportunity to check out books.  Students in kindergarten and 1st grade will check out one book each week, and they will be be able to check out an additional book when they return their books.
* Students in kindergarten will have a library book bag for them to store their library books.
* Students in 2nd-6th grade will be able to check out 2 books per week.
* Students will also be taught Common Sense Media and Digital Citizenship in library class.  They will be using iPads and Chrome Books to practice safe and effective search strategies.
*Grades 3 -6 will do a major research project each year.  We will learn the research process of note taking, writing a bibliography, and  selecting the appropriate print and online resources.
* Storytime, research, book clubs, genre lessons, and so much more await the students of Holiday Park Elementary School in the library!
